Google Play Edition ROM for Galaxy S4!

With the recently released Google Play Edititon phone like the Galaxy S4 and HTC One it was only a matter of time until someone ported them over to the other variants of Galaxy S4. This Google Play Edition ROM port includes everything that the original one has and everything works flawlessly! The Google Play Edition ROM port will work for the Galaxy S4 GT-i9505, AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, and Sprint!

This was the first AOSP ROM I installed on my Galaxy S4 since I got it and it is so much better than Touchwiz. You get more memory storage, no lag, and just a clean smooth UI. Since this leak was from the Galaxy S4 Google Play Edition, Android should take full advantage of the hardware, especially the Quadcore Snapdragon!

There are two version of this ROM, one is running on Android 4.2.2 and comes pre-rooted, while the other one is running on Android version 4.3 and doesn't come pre-rooted, however Chainfire has found a way to root the Android version 4.3 for the GT-i9505, AT&T, and T-Mobile. If your running on Verizon or Sprint use the Android version 4.2.2 specifically for your Galaxy S4 variant!

How to install on AT&T Galaxy S4:
Download the Android version 4.2.2 or 4.3 of Google Play Edition ROM and flash it. Do Not Reboot Your Device. Flash Loki Doki then reboot your phone.

How to root using the Google Play Edition 4.3 version [GT-i9505/AT&T/T-Mobile ONLY]:
1. Flash the 4.3 Google Play Edition ROM (link below).
2. Reboot your phone
3. Download SuperSU-JWR66N-S005-130625-1.41.zip to your phone.
4. Enter back into recovery mode and flash the SuperSU zip file.
5. Reboot your phone, if you asked to disable stock recovery choose "No".

How to Unroot/Install Official 4.1.1 Jelly Bean on Galaxy S3 SGH-T999 T-Mobile!

What will unrooting my Samsung Galaxy S3 do to my phone? If you follow this process step by step it will completely restore your phone back to 100% complete stock 4.1.1 Jelly Bean, just like the day you bought your phone. It's also safe enough to send back to Samsung without Samsung knowing you ever installed ClockworkMod Recovery or rooted your phone.

This will delete everything from your internal sd card (internal memory) on your Galaxy S3! BACKUP your photos, contacts...ect!

If you were rooted and are planning on sending your Galaxy S3 back to your carrier/manufacture reset your flash counter first! Click here to learn how to!

1. Enter your phone into "Download Mode". Make sure your phone is unplugged and turned off.

2. Hold the volume down, home center, and power button at the same time. When you feel a vibration let go of the power, but keep holding onto the volume down and home button.

3. Press the volume up to continue.

4. Plug your phone via microUSB to your computer.

5. Download and extract Unroot/ Install Stock 4.1.1 JB on Galaxy S3 T-Mobile.zip below

Download Unroot/ Install Stock 4.1.1 JB on Galaxy S3 T-Mobile.zip

6. Open Odin3 v1.85.

7. In Odin you should see a yellow highlighted box on the left of the program. If you don't download and install Samsung Kies.

8. Click on "PDA" and locate the tar file that was extracted.

9. Click on "Start". This process will take about ten minutes. Once it finishes rebooting you will be on stock 4.1.1 Jelly Bean.

10. If you get any errors or get stuck on bootlooop do a factory reset in stock recovery.

11. Power off your phone, then press the volume up, home center, and power button. Hold all three at the same time, when you feel a vibration let go of the power, but keep holding the volume up and center home button.

12. Select "Wipe Data / Factory Reset" and select "yes".

13. Select "Wipe Cache Partition".

14. Select "reboot system now" and your now on 100% stock and unrooted.

FAQ:
Q: The yellow COM bar isn't showing up on my "Odin" application, what do I do?
A: Download and install Samsung Kies on your computer, make sure your using the original Samsung microUSB cable, try a different USB port.

Q: I keep getting a red "Fail" on my Odin screen, how do I fix this?
A: Restart your computer, use a different USB port, and use a different USB cable.

Q: Is this method safe enough that I can give this back to my manufacture / carrier?
A: Yes, this method will completely unroot your phone and remove any traces of you rooting your phone, just make sure you reset your flash counter mentioned at the top of the article.

How To Install ClockworkMod Recovery Touch on Samsung Galaxy S2 / S II T989 T-Mobile! [Windows]

Are you having a difficult time navigating through ClockworkMod Recovery? Want to be able to touch the screen to navigate at a much faster and easier pace? This tutorial will show you how to install ClockworkMod Recovery. ClockworkMod Recovery Touch is just like ClockworkMod Recovery except your can touch the screen to navigate.

Download / Install Samsung Kies if you don't already have that: Here

1. Plug in your phone to your computer via microUSB

2. We will now enter "Download Mode". Hold down the volume up, volume down, and power button all at the same time. When you feel vibration let go of the power button, but keep holding on to the volume up and down button.

3. When you see a yellow warning triangle you can let go of all the buttons and press the volume up button to continue into "Download Mode"

4. Set the phone aside

5. Download and extract files:

--> Download Odin3v185.zip
Download recovery.tar.md5-->

6. Open Odin3 V. 1.85.exe

7. Make sure nothing but reboot is check marked

8. Click on PDA and find and select the file named: recovery.tar.md5

9. Click start and wait until your phone reboots

10. Congratulations! Your phone should now have ClockWorkMod Recovery Touch. Enjoy!

How to Unbrick Samsung Galaxy S2 / S II T989 Phone To Ice Cream Sandwich!

A hard bricked phone is when your phone does not turn on at all. When you can’t get in to CWR/CWM or stock recovery. You are basically screwed. There is no way of getting out of a hard bricked phone. You must sell it or get a replacement phone from your carrier / manufacture.

A soft bricked phone is when your phone bootloops. When you can get into CWR/CWM. When you can use jitag to get into download mode. A softbricked phone is when your are stuck at the bootloop and you can't get out of the bootloop.

This will delete EVERYTHING on your internal SD card. Not external SD card

This method and any other method will only unbrick a soft bricked phone!

Download / Install Samsung Kies if you already don't: Here

1. Plug in your phone to your computer via microUSB

3. When you see a yellow warning triangle you can let go of all the buttons and press the volume up button to continue into "Download Mode"

4. Set the phone aside

5. Download and extract files here:

--> Download SGH-T989_UVLE1_ICS.zip-->

6. Open Odin3 V. 1.85.exe

7. Make sure nothing but reboot is check marked

8. Click on PDA and find and select the file named: T989UVLE1_T989TMBLE1_T989UVLE1_HOME.tar.md5

9. Click start and wait until your phone reboots

10. Congratulations! You should be on official Ice Cream Sandwich

11. If you get any errors or force closes you need to enter into "Stock Recovery"

12. Unplug your microUSB cable from your phone. Hold down the volume up, volume down, and power button all at the same time. When you feel a vibration let go of the power button but keep holding on to the volume up and down button.

13. When you entered into stock recovery choose "Wipe data/factory reset" by navigating up and down with the volume buttons and the power button to select an item.

13. Go down and choose "Yes"

14. Reboot and you will be a fresh Ice Cream Sandwich. Enjoy!

[ROM Review] Leaked Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0.4 for Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket / T989!

Today we will be reviewing the leaked rom Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0.4 on Samsung Galaxy S2 Skyrocket / T989. Big thanks to an unnamed source that leaked this Ice Cream 4.0.4 version!

This unmodified rom is very smooth and has average battery life. It's a great rom to use for daily use and doesn't have any major problems. It actually seems pretty flawless.

1. Transfer the download zip file named: ucle2stock.zip to your external sd card.
2. Enter into Clock Work Mod Recovery
3. Wipe your phone
4. Select install zip from sd card
5. Find the file named: ucle2stock.zip and choose yes
6. Reboot and enjoy!

How to Install Official Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0.3 on Samsung Galaxy S2 T989 T-Mobile! [Windows]

It finally came out! The official Ice Cream Sandwich came out on 6/11/12 or 6/12/12 depending where you live. There was a lot of anger and despise against T-Mobile for quite some time because they didn't plan on releasing Ice Cream Sandwich any time soon. Finally T-Mobile released it but not without many customers being dissatisfied with their service. It eventually came out so lets starting enjoy the sweet taste of an Ice Cream Sandwich!

Note: Their is another way to install the Ice Cream Sandwich, but I'm going to show you the official way to install ICS. This is the only official way to truly get the official Ice Cream Sandwich.

This will delete EVERYTHING on your internal SD card. Not external SD card
Install Samsung Kies if you don't already have it: Here

1. First we will enter in "Download Mode". Hold down the volume up, volume down, and power button all at the same time. When you feel vibration let go of the power button, but keep holding on to the volume up and down button.

2. When you see a yellow warning triangle you can let go of all the buttons and press the volume up button to continue into "Download Mode"

3. Download and extract the files here:

--> Download: SGH-T989_UVLE1_ICS.zip
-->
4. Open odin3 v1.85.exe located in the extracted file

5. Make sure only reboot is checked marked (located under the yellow bar)

6.Click PDA and find the file named: T989UVLE1_T989TMBLE1_T989UVLE1_HOME.tar.md5 (You extracted this file from: SGH-T989_UVLE1_ICS.zip

7. Click start and wait until your phone reboots

8. You phone is now on a fresh stock version of the official Ice Cream Sandwich.

9. If you get any errors or force closes you need to enter into "Stock Recovery"

10. Unplug your microUSB cable from your phone. Hold down the volume up, volume down, and power button all at the same time. When you feel a vibration let go of the power button but keep holding on to the volume up and down button.

11. When you entered into stock recovery choose "Wipe data/factory reset" by navigating up and down with the volume buttons and the power button to select an item.

12. Go down and choose "Yes"

13. Reboot and you will be a fresh Ice Cream Sandwich. Enjoy!

How to Root Samsung Galaxy S2 / S II T989 T-Mobile! [Windows]

Rooting your phone is a great benefit because it gives you so much more access to your phone. Lets start off by disusing what root it and what it does. Root is the process of modifying the operating system on your device and giving you complete control over it. Rooting your phone will let you do many things like giving you full access to your phone, lets you use special programs (Titanium Backup, SetCPU, Root Explorer, ect) , backup and restore your phone system, and much more!

This will delete EVERYTHING on your internal SD card. Not external SD card

Download / Install Samsung Kies if you don't already have it you can get it: Here

1. First we will enter in "Download Mode". Hold down the volume up, volume down, and power button all at the same time. When you feel vibration let go of the power button, but keep holding on to the volume up and down button.

2. When you see a yellow warning triangle you can let go of all the buttons and press the volume up button to continue into "Download Mode"

3. Set your phone aside

4. Download the root zip files here:
--> Download tmobilegalaxys2root.zip
-->
5. Make sure only reboot is checked mark (located under the yellow bar)

6. Click on PDA and find the file named: recovery-cmw-hercules.tar ( this was included in the tmobilegalaxys2root.zip file)

7. Click start and wait until your phone finished rebooting

8. Congratulation you just got Clock Work Mod Recovery installed on your phone, but were not done.

9. Transfer the file: su-3.0.5-efgh-signed.zip to your external SD card.

10. Now were going to enter into Clock Work Mod Recovery Mode

11. Unplug your phone via microUSB

12. Hold down the volume up, volume down, and power button all at the same time. When you feel a vibration let go of the power button, but keep holding onto the volume up and down button.

13. When you see a blue screen you can let go of all the buttons.

14. Navigate using the volume up and down button and select items using the power button.

15. Go down to "install zip from SD card'

16. Select "choose zip from SD card"

17. Find the file named: su-3.0.5-efgh-signed.zip and select it

18. Go down to yes and wait until it's complete

19. When it finishes and says " Install from sdcard complete" then you can "Go Back" and select "Reboot System Now".

20. If it says "Aborted" keep installing until it says "Install from sdcard complete" it will take 2-5 tries until you get that message.

21. After you device finishes rebooting you just rooted your device! Congratulations! You should now have Superuser access.

5. Download Odin and .tar files here:

Download stock ROM in .tar format

--> .. 6. Open Odin3 V. 1.85.exe

7. Make sure nothing but reboot is check marked

8. Click on PDA and find and select the file named "T989UVKL1_HOME_SGH-T989user_CL799405_REV00.tar"

9. Click start and wait until your phone reboots

10. Congratulations! You should be on Gingerbread and you just unrooted your phone!

11. To check that you unrooted your phone unplug your phone and hold down the volume up, volume down, and power button all at the same time. When you feel vibration let go of the power button, but keep holding on to the volume up and down button.
If you do not see ClockworkMod Recovery then you did it correctly.

How To Unbrick Samsung Galaxy S2 T989 T-Mobile! [Windows]

Many people feel that when you brick your phone you cannot fix it. Fortunately, that is not the truth at all, unbricking you phone is very easy to do and will only take about 10 minutes total. Bricking can happen several ways that all happen without the user's fault. Bricking can happen just by the way the core system properties are setup. When you flash or do something similar to do that it might mess with the core system properties and could result you in bricking your phone. No one actually knows how to prevent bricking because it is very random and is different for each person's phone. But, there has been reports that bricked phones are more likely to happen on some phones than others.

This will delete EVERYTHING on your internal memory. NOT external SD card.

1. Download the driver for your Samsung Galaxy S2 T989 phone. To do this just download Samsung Kies to get the drivers. (Skip step if you already have Samsung Kies)

2. Download and unzip the unbrick file

--> Download Unbrick.zip
-->
3. Open Odin

4. Plug your phone into your computer and turn your phone off.

5. Enter Recovery Mode:Hold down volume up ,down,and power button all together. When you feel a vibration let go of the power button but keep holding onto the volume up and down button. Keep holding it until you get to a yellow triangle warning sign.

6. Press the up button after you see the yellow triangle shaped warning sign.

7.Set your phone aside and in the Odin application click on PDA and open the file recovery-cmw-hercules.tar (this was included with the "Unbrick.zip" file).

8. Click start and wait for about 2-5 minutes until the phone finished rebooting

9. When you see the setup screen on your phone just wait 10 minutes, reboot, and start start using your phone.

10. Turn on your phone and you should be at your lockscreen! Congratulations you just unbricked your Samsung Galaxy S2 T989 phone in about 10 minutes!
