Darthstalker ROM for Galaxy S4 GT-i9505, T-Mobile, AT&T, and Canadian variants is a solid Touchwiz ROM made by a solid Android developer, jovy23. I did a ROM review of this ROM a couple of months ago, but this ROM was recently updated with new features that you will enjoy!

In the latest Darthstalker version the developer has added more wallpapers, added support for native wifi tether for both 4G and 4G LTE for T-Mobile Galaxy S4 variants. You also get updated Google apps, flashlight in the extended power menu, and a speedy de-bloated ROM.

Today we're taking a look at the popular MIUI ROM for the Galaxy S4 GT-i9505, T-Mobile, AT&T, and Canadian variants. MIUI ROM is widely known and highly respected for multiple things, the one major thing is the amount of themes you can get with this ROM! 

MIUI ROM is known for 100's of themes that you can instantly apply to your Galaxy S4, even without rebooting your phone! MIUI also changes the entire user interface, making your phone look like it's not even running on Android. Your app drawer is removed so all your apps are shown on your homescreen, apps look completely different, and you have a search bar on the first homescreen page. 

MIUI not only changes how your phone looks, but changes how it is used. Everything from settings to the "About Phone" section looks nothing like a regular Android screen!

If you are coming from a different ROM! You NEED to first format /system, /cache, /data, /preload and in go into advanced and clear dalvik cache all within CWM/TWRP. Then flash the ROM.

Wanam, the creator of the ROM WanamLite has released the series to yet another flagship device, the Galaxy S4. This ROM supports the Galaxy S4 GT-i9505, T-Mobile, AT&T, and Canadian variants. This ROM doesn't come with bells and whistles  but instead cuts down on the fat of the ROM and includes neat some features. 

WanamLite ROM comes with some nice features like App2SD, call recording, Adam Kernel, 4 way reboot, stock keyboard, and other features. This ROM also removes all the bloatware and instead keeps the essential apps keeping your device slimmer. 

With the installed Adam Kernel you get control over your CPU to change the Govenor to conservative, performance, or anything inbetween.

The developer of FoxHound ROM, raffaele88 has made the famous ROM for the Galaxy S4 GT-i9505, AT&T, and T-Mobile. You may have remembered this ROM before as it is also available for the Galaxy Nexus GSM. This ROM comes with Aroma installer giving you a vast amount of options during the installation process via CWM or TWRP. 

You have options for themes, kernels, keyboards, and so much more with the benefit of using the Aroma installer. FoxHound ROM removes all the bloatware that you have and only keeps what is really needed. This ROM also removes the TouchWiz "theme" and makes your phone look much more clean and gives it a similar look to a AOSP ROM. 

This ROM also includes FoxHound Extras to change the look of your battery, secret phone codes, faster GPS fix, and other useful extras that are always nice to have.

Google Play Edition ROM for Galaxy S4!

With the recently released Google Play Edititon phone like the Galaxy S4 and HTC One it was only a matter of time until someone ported them over to the other variants of Galaxy S4. This Google Play Edition ROM port includes everything that the original one has and everything works flawlessly! The Google Play Edition ROM port will work for the Galaxy S4 GT-i9505, AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, and Sprint! 

This was the first AOSP ROM I installed on my Galaxy S4 since I got it and it is so much better than Touchwiz. You get more memory storage, no lag, and just a clean smooth UI. Since this leak was from the Galaxy S4 Google Play Edition, Android should take full advantage of the hardware, especially the Quadcore Snapdragon! 

There are two version of this ROM, one is running on Android 4.2.2 and comes pre-rooted, while the other one is running on Android version 4.3 and doesn't come pre-rooted, however Chainfire has found a way to root the Android version 4.3 for the GT-i9505, AT&T, and T-Mobile. If your running on Verizon or Sprint use the Android version 4.2.2 specifically for your Galaxy S4 variant! 

How to install on AT&T Galaxy S4: 
Download the Android version 4.2.2 or 4.3 of Google Play Edition ROM and flash it. Do Not Reboot Your Device. Flash Loki Doki then reboot your phone. 

How to root using the Google Play Edition 4.3 version [GT-i9505/AT&T/T-Mobile ONLY]: 
1. Flash the 4.3 Google Play Edition ROM (link below).
2. Reboot your phone
3. Download SuperSU-JWR66N-S005-130625-1.41.zip to your phone.
4. Enter back into recovery mode and flash the SuperSU zip file.
5. Reboot your phone, if you asked to disable stock recovery choose "No".

How to Unroot Galaxy S4 Without a Computer! - Mobile Odin [GT-i9505/T-Mobile/Sprint/Canadian/US Cellular]

Currently there is no method to unroot your Galaxy S4 on both Mac or Linux. Luckily Chainfire has recently updated his app to support the Galaxy S4 line up so now you don't need a computer. 

With Mobile Odin you can completely unroot your Galaxy S4 without ever needing a computer as long as your were rooted prior to using the app. Very useful is you only own a Mac or Linux based computer or if you just can't get your hands on a Windows computer. 

Mobile Odin supports multiple types of Galaxy S4s including: GT-i9505, T-Mobile SGH-M919, Sprint SPH-L720, US Cellular SCH-R970, and Canada SGH-i337M variants. 

If your are planning on sending your phone back to your carrier/Samsung make sure you reset flash counter first!

Just follow the step-by-step directions down below and you will be unrooted shortly! 

1. Download Mobile Odin from the Play Store to support the developer or download the free version from XDA. I HIGHLY recommend you download the paid version from the Play Store!

2. Download the correct stock tar file using the link below and transfer it to your phone. Note: You may need to unzip the file to get to "tar.md5" stock file.

Download stock files for the Galaxy S4 for your specific model

3. Open Mobile Odin and grant SuperSU Request.

4. Download the add-on files.

5. Scroll down and select "Open file...". Locate and select the tar.md5 stock file you downloaded in step 2.

6. Then uncheck "Enable EverRoot".

7. Check mark "Wipe data and cache" and "Wipe Dalvik cache".

8. Select "Flash firmware" and continue. Also select "Check" to MD5 signatures.

9. You will automatically be booted into "Download Mode" with the green Android. Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds. You phone will automatically turn back on and in 10-20 seconds you will see a blue Android.

10. Wait for the blue Mobile Odin to finish in about 5 minutes.

11. Once the process is complete you will be booted into stock recovery. Select "wipe data/factory reset" and "yes".

12. Then select "wipe cache partition". Then your phone will automatically reboot.

13. After 10 minutes you will be fully booted up and unrooted!
