How to Get Free WiFi Tethering/Hotspot on AT&T Galaxy S4 SGH-i337!

If you have AT&T you know that if you want to use WiFi tethering you will be forced to pay an extra fee each month to get this benefit. 

This is a very unfair thing as you are already paying for the monthly data charge, why should you pay extra so other devices can use the same data plan? It doesn't make any senese, only shows how greedy the carriers are! 

This guide will by pass AT&T's restriction and allow you to get free wifi tethering. You MUST already have data on your phone! 

Before we being make sure your AT&T Galaxy S4 SGH-i337 is rooted!

1. Download Root Browser application from the Play Store.

2. Open the app and navigate to /system/app

3. Located TetheringProvision.apk and TetheringProvision.odex. Rename these two files to TetheringProvision.bak and TetheringProvision.bak1. Make sure you grant Superuser Request!

4. Download TetheringProvision.apk directly to your phone using the link below.

Download TetheringProvision.apk 

5. Navigate to your downloads folder (/sdcard/Download) or where you downloaded the TetheringProvision.apk. 

6. Copy "TetheringProvision.apk" and navigate back to /system/app and paste it. 

7. Reboot your Galaxy S4 and turn on native Mobile Hotspot via Settings. AT&T will still give you a warning message, but mobile hotspot/tethering will now work! 

8. Enjoy!

How to Get Free WiFi Tethering/Hotspot on Sprint Galaxy S4 SPH-L720!

If you have Sprint you know that if you want to use WiFi tethering you will be forced to pay an extra fee each month to get this benefit. 

This is a very unfair thing as you are already paying for the monthly data charge, why should you pay extra so other devices can use the same data? It doesn't make any senese, only shows how greedy the carriers are! 

This guide will by pass Sprint's restriction and allow you to get free wifi tethering. You MUST already have data on your phone! 

Your Sprint Galaxy S4 SPH-L720 must be rooted to do this!

1. Go to Settings > More > About device. Look at the last 3 characters in Build Number it will either be MDL or MDC.

2. Download the correct zip file directly to your phone using the link below depending on your model number and if your deodexed or odexed.
If your on stock your odexed and if your on a custom ROM your most likely deodexed.

3. Enter into Recovery Mode. Power off your phone and press the volume up, home button, and power button at the same time. Once your phone vibrates let go of the power button, but keep holding onto the volume up and home button. 

4. Select “install from sdcard” for ClockworkMod and “Install” option for TWRP. 

5. Locate the zip file you downloaded directly to your phone in step 2. (It will most likely be located in your "Download" folder). 

6. Select and install the zip file. Then go back and reboot your phone. 

7. Now turn on native hotspot via Settings and you can now get free wifi tethering on your Sprint Galaxy S4 SPH-L720.

Anyone who has a data plans knows that they pay enough to get internet on their phone, but carriers force customers to pay for WiFi tethering even though you aren't changing the amount of data you use. It just doesn't make any sense.

Luckily for us T-Mobile Galaxy S4 users you can bypass that restriction and get free WiFi tether/hotspot without any charge from the carrier at all! Just follow the step-by-step guide below and you'll be done before you know it!

Note: Your T-Mobile Galaxy S4 needs to be rooted before you procede.

1. Download WiFi Tether for Root Users from the Play Store using the "Get It On Google Play" link below.

2. Open the app select the "Option" hardware key then choose Settings.

3. Choose "Change Device-Profile" and scroll down to "Samsung Galaxy S4" and select it.

4. Optional: Change the SSID (network name) to anything you want. Ex. GalaxyS4, Tether, etc.

5. Go back to the main WiFi tether screen and tap on the large WiFi symbol.

6. Grant SuperSU request.

7. Go to your computer or other wifi enabled device and connect it to the network you named SSID, The default SSID is AndroidTether.

8. Now you will be able to access the internet on your other devices without having to pay for mobile hotspot from T-Mobile! Enjoy!

FAQ: 
Q: I can't connect my device to the WiFi tether app, I keep get an error.
A: Make sure you didn't enable WiFi encryption in the WiFi tether app, you will run into problems!
Q: Will T-Mobile charge me for using this hotspot feature even though I don't pay for it?
A: I have been using this method for over a year and I have NEVER been charged.

How to Get Free WiFi Tethering / Hotspot on Samsung Galaxy Nexus! [GSM/Verizon/Sprint]

I have tested this method on my Samsung Galaxy Nexus Device and it seems to work but please KEEP IN MIND that I am in no way responsible if you get charged from your carrier for using WiFI tethering/hotspot.

Use this method at your own risk! It has been tested and seems to work.

You MUST have a rooted phone. If you Galaxy Nexus isn't rooted click Here for Windows and Here for Mac on the tutorial.

Step 1: Download WiFi Tether for Root Users app here:

Step 2: Open up the app and tap of Options symbol > Settings >  Change Device Profile

Step 3: Select "Samsung Galaxy Nexus GSM" or "Galaxy Nexus CDMA/LTE"

Step 4: Go back to the main menu and tap on the big WiFi icon to turn it on

Step 5: It will ask for Super User permission "Grant" the permission

Step 6: Go onto your computer and look for "AndroidTether" under WiFi networks

Step 7: Connect to that network and you can start using 4G/3G on your computer via Galaxy Nexus GSM/CDMA.

Tips: You can change the name of the WiFI network & put a password. You can find it all under settings.

How To Get Free WiFi Tethering On Samsung Galaxy S2 / S II T989!

Are you getting sick of T-Mobile of charging you for the use WiFi tethering? With the use of a very simple app you can get from the Google Playstore you can hide your usage of WiFi tethering. Using this process T-Mobile will still charge you for the use of data, but not the use of WiFi tethering. Just beware that it's your responsibility to follow the directions step by step and to make sure that T-Mobile isn't charging you.

Note: I am not responsible if you get charged for using WiFi tether!

*You must be rooted to get free WiFi tethering. If you aren't click: Here

1. Install Titanium Backup Root

2. Go to backup/restore

3. Find TetheringManager
-->
4. Tap on it and freeze it if you got the paid version OR uninstall it if you got the free version.

5. Go into settings and turn on WiFi Hotspot

6. Sit back and relax!
